Ionia Shopper's Guide - Sat. May 9, 2009


Edith “Edie” I. Meis, age 75, of Ionia beloved mother and devoted wife passed 
away May 1, 2009 in Lansing at Sparrow Hospital. Edie is survived by her loving 
husband of 45 years Dale Meis of Ionia; sons, Steve and Tamara Quick of 
Kentwood, Mark Cole of Smyrna, Matthew and Tonda Cole of Geenville and Joe Meis 
of Ionia; brothers: Robert Green of Carson City and James and Paula Schreiner 
of Ionia; sister, Joyce and Leon Pauly; grandchildren: Melissa Cati, Luke 
White, Jason Quick, Jessica Gentz, Joshua Quick, Dylan Cole, Seth Cole, Jesse 
Cole, Lexi Thacker, Kasey Ernstein and Breeann Gorby; 8 great grandchildren and 
good friends Dave and Glenda Gorby and Tammie Cole. Funeral services were held 
Thursday, May 7 at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger and Rev. 
John Clark officiating. Interment Lyons Cemetery. Anyone wishing may make 
memorial contributions in Edie’s name to Temple Baptist Church.
