The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, August 7, 1939

Funeral services for Charles Melzow, who died Wednesday morning, August 2, 
were held from the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church Saturday, August 5, 
at 2:30 p.m. preceded by a prayer service at the residence on Hill street.  
Rev. R. A. Rook, pastor, officiated at the services.

Floral arrangements were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Ruehs, Jr., and Miss 
Margaret Tafel.  Bearers were August Minz, Herman Pinnow, Robert Tafel, Ferd 
Tafel, William Miller, Jacob Teichman.  Interment was in the family lot in 
Highland Park cemetery.

Relatives attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Riddle of 
Davisburg, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Melzow, Jr., of Royal Oak, Mr. and Mrs. William 
Melzow of Flint, Mr. and Mrs. William Pinnow of Lake Odessa, Mr. and Mrs. 
Robert Tafel, Robert Tafel, Jr., Norman Tafel, Mrs. Louis Tafel, Miss Luciene 
Tafel, Norman Yockey, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gerll, Mrs. Anne Gossill, Mrs. 
Hillman of Saginaw.
