Ionia County News - Thurs. Nov. 3, 1949


Mrs. Margaret Jane Menhennett, age 84, of Orleans passed away at 8:30 Sunday 
evening, Oct. 30, 1949. She was born in Rockford, Mich., and had lived in 
Orleans the past five years.

Mrs. Menhennett was the widow of Fred C. Menhennett, deputy warden of Marquette 
prison who was killed during the riot there Dec. 11, 1921. She is survived by a 
daughter, Mrs. O.N. Jones of Orleans; two sons, Fred W. Menhennett of Gary, 
Ind., and H.E. Menhennett of Indianapolis, Ind.

Mrs. Menhennett was a charter member of Presque Isle Chapter, O.E.S., 
Marquette, Mich.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at Negaunee, Mich.
