Menkee, aged 75 years, were grieved to learn of her passing in death, late Thursday afternoon at her home, 117 W. Liberty St., following an illness of several months and which came as a result of a stroke of apoplexy. Mrs. Menkee was a native of Otisco township, where she was born on July 28, 1867. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George V. Snyder, well known residents of the township in those days and came to this city with her parents in 1886 and had resided here ever since. She was married to Walter R. Menkee, one time alderman on the city council, from the third ward and who for many years operated a photograph gallery in the building now occupied by Dr. John P. Engemann. Mr. Menkee passed away about six years ago. The marriage took place in the home in which death occurred and was performed by Rev. C. I. Deyo, pastor at that time, of the local congregational church. Mrs. Menkee was a member of the Congregational church and of the American Legion Auxiliary and also formerly belonged to the Pythian Sisters. She was for many years active in all social and civic activities in the community. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roy B. Salter, of Green Bay, Wis., who has been with her mother, caring for her ever since a short time after she started in with her last illness and also two sons: Ernest Menkee of Akron, Ohio, and George Menkee of Ferndale, this state, and a sister Mrs. Arminta Williams, of Windermere, Florida. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Fales funeral home with Rev. Henry L. Ruse, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating, nd burial was by the side of her late husband in River Ridge cemetery. Pallbearers were E. C. Lloyd, Emil Ferick, Clarence A. Wheeler, John M.
