Thaddeus G. Mercer, 78, died Tuesday morning in Saranac where he had been a
lifelong resident.  He was born July 25, 1865,  and was the son of Mr. and Mrs.
William G. Mercer.  His father had owned a private bank in Saranac.

Mr. Mercer had owned and operated an elevator in Saranac for the past 25? years.
 In December, 1943, he suffered a fractured hip in a fall at his home and had
been confined there since.

He was a life member of IOOF and Rebekah lodges.  Surviving him are his widow,
Eliza; two daughters Mrs. Esther Brunquiet of Denver, Colorado and Mrs. Richard
Dausman of Saranac; also seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morris
funeral home, Saranac.  Rev. E.H. Humphrey will officiate and burial will be in
Saranac cemetery.
