The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Friday, December 16, 1914

Mrs. Wilbur Merchant, 64, died at her home in Sebewa, Tuesday evening after a 
long illness.  She was born in St. Joseph county, and had been a resident of 
Portland for many years.  She is survived by her husband, and three children, 
Mrs. Carrie Folgar, Six Lakes; Mrs. Ida Hoon, Portland, and Watson Merchant, 
Cashim, Washington.  Funeral services will be held Friday morning from the 
house.  Rev. Slee of the Methodist church will officiate.
