Ionia Sentinel - Thursday, Oct. 1, 1891

                            DEATH OF T. J. MERRIET.
T. J. Merriet, whose injury from a horse was recorded a few weeks since, died 
at his East Main street residence last Sunday at 10: 50 p.m. The funeral 
services were conducted from the M. E. church Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 
o'clock.

The deceased was 83 years of age and old age seems to have been the cause of 
his death as he had nearly or quite recovered from his recent injuries.
