The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, June 14, 1916

The funeral for E. W. Merriett was held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the 
residence, Rev. C. E. Hoag officiating, assisted by Revs. Marshall, Branch and 
Spencer.  The bearers were J. Fred Fisher, S. L. Chapman, Clarence Merriett, 
Ralph Merriett, Lynn Crane and Herbert Oakland.  Interment was in Highland 
Park.

From out of town to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van Doran of 
Flint, Mrs. Ida Galloway of Mesick, Arthur Van Doran of Gaylord, Silas Bailey 
of Burton, Mrs. Herbert Bailey of Burton, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strong of 
Greenville, Mrs. L. R. Secord of Grandville, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Merriett of 
Detroit, and Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Chapman of Toledo.
