          JAY MERRILL
   A great surprise was given Mrs. Jay Merrill Tuesday morning when her husband who
was talking with a neighbor suddenly dropped dead in the road near the home.
   Mr. and Mrs. Merrill celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this month which
event was mentioned in last week's Wave, as was also the children who are left without a 
father.
   The funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the home, east of Lake
Odessa and burial will be at Lakeside.
