Funeral services were held at Mapes Funeral home last Saturday and burial was in Mulliken cemetery. Mrs. Merritt was born in Portland. Her maiden name was Beatrice Bartow, and she was a member of one of the well known families of this village at that time. She had resided in Sunfield for over 40 years at time of her death. The husband survives and there are two daughters, Mrs. Lois Romans, of White Cloud, and Miss Hertha Merritt, employed on a newspaper at Ypsilanti. There is also a son, Leslie, editor of the Livingston County Press at Howell, Michigan.
