Sentinel - Std. Friday, Jan. 3, 1936 

Mrs. Cynthia Merritt, 86 died at her home in Saranac Friday morning, January 3 
following a lingering illness. She was born in New York state and came to 
Michigan with her parents at the age of two years. she had always lived in 
Ionia county, for a time on a farm in Berlin township before moving into 
Saranac. A niece, Mrs. Mary Reed, of Greenville has been caring for her for the 
past year.

Surviving are two sons, Ernest, who left Saranac last week for Florida, and 
Bert of Ionia 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
