Metternick, 83, of rural Belding, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 22, 2006, in Greenville. Francis was born at home on Feb. 2, 1923, in Keene Township, the son of John and Clara M. Houseman Metternick. He had worked for many years at Rob-Roy Industries in Belding. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Ionia. Francis was preceded by his parents; brothers and sisters; and his uncle, Ted Houseman. Francis is survived by his sisters, Louise E. Kloster of Belding and her children, Kathy and Ed Hecht of Montrose, Colo., Jerry and Tom Arntz of Woodenville, Wash., Jim and Sharon Kloster of Coos Bay, Ore., Mary Lou and Garry Mulick of Belding; Theresa and George Case of Greenville; and other nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Miriam, with Father Fred Brucker presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral home, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or the Alvah N.
