Currigan currigan1932@concast.net September 9, 2023, 5:41 pm Belding Banner-News Thur.September 10, 1953 Clara Metternick Buried Tuesday Mrs.Clara Metternick, 70, died at her home on R.R.2 in Keene Township sout of the city, Friday evening.She was born in Otisco Township as Clara Houseman, July 11, 1883, and has always lived in this vicinity. She was a member of St.Mary's Catholic Church and the rosary was recited at Fales-Huffman Funeral Chapel Sunday evening at 8 o'clock. Her husband,John Metternick, passed away April 10, 1953. Her survivors are two daughters, Mrs.Andrew Koster and Tressa and one son, Francis and four grandchildren at home, five sisters, Miss Edith Houseman of Grand Rapids, Mrs.Phillip Patin of Sand Lake, Mrs.Joseph Krupp of Smyrna, Mrs.Clarence Breimayer of Miriam, and Mrs.Jacob Kloster of Grand Rapids and two brothers, Fred and Theodore Houseman both of Miriam. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St.Mary's Catholic Church south of the city and the burial beside her husband. Pall bearers were Louis Feuerstein, Joe Andres, Julius Rittersdorf, Lawrence Shindorf, Donald Gibson and Robert Schoenborn.
