Excerpts from Saranac Obituary

STEVEN ALAN METTERNICK

Died May 12, 2026-age 66 at home in Saranac surrounded by family.
Born August 23, 1959 in Ionia, son of Ronald Eugene & Marilyn Kay (Rhoades) 
Metternick.
Graduated from Saranac High School class of 1978 were he was a all around good 
athlete. He enjoyed Softball for many years especially with the Germaine's team.
Married Kay M.Thompson on July 10, 1981 in Saranac at Steve's parents home.
Steve loved hunting & fishing, going to Sprint Car Races, and playing pool.
He enjoyed many years of the Manly Man Pool League at the Saranac American 
Legion.
Survived by his wife, Kay M.  of Saranac, Sons, Brad of Saranac, Ryan Metternick 
of Holland, Brother Scott (Stacey) Metternick of Florida, Mother-in-law, 
Germaine Thompson of Saranac, brothers & Sisters-in-law, Michael (Deb) Thompson 
of Saranac, Randy (Jill) Thompson, Doug (Connie) Thompson and Beth (Dave) Pierce 
of Lyons, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Krista Metternick, Father-in-
law, Jim Thompson & brother-in-law Michael Milligan.
Cremation has taken place & a Celebration of Life will be at Steel Street Hall, 
Thursday, June 18, from 3-7pm.
