Mrs. Clara Stuart Metzger, 90, route three, died Thursday evening at 9:45 at 
the O'Berry nursing home. She had been ill for some time.

She was born March 27, 1869 in Clarksville, the daughter of Alexander and 
Elizabeth Montgomery Stuart. She was married to John Metzger, October 24, 1888 
in Clarksville and had resided 58 years on the farm on route three in Easton 
Township. Mr. Metzger died in 1928.

Mrs. Metzger was a member of the Easton Community church, WSCS, and served as 
organist 50 years.

Surviving are three sons, Carl S. Metzger of San Jose, Calif., Bruce and Paul 
Metzger of Easton township; two daughters, Mrs. Very Mullholland of Spokane, 
Wash., and Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Weisgerber of Orange township; grandchildren 
and one brother, Ralph W. Stuart of Spokane. 

The body of Mrs. Metzger will be at the Myers funeral home until Sunday morning 
when it will be taken to her home. It will lie in state at the Easton Community 
church Tuesday from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at 2 p.m. Burial will 
be at Easton cemetery.

Contributions will be accepted by Mrs. Lester Wolverton and Mrs. Lester Covert 
for a memorial fund for the Easton Community church.
