Ionia Sentinel Standard, 29 Apr 2008

Shirley Metzger, aged 82, of Ionia, passed away April 26, 2008 in Ionia.  She
was born Jan. 25, 1926 in Detroit, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Pakes)
Thomas.  Surely married James Band Hagle in 1945, who preceded her in death, and
Bruce Metzger in 1966, who also preceded her in death.  She graduated from
Stanton High in 1944 and worked as an antique dealer in Ionia for many years.

She is survived by her children, Robert Banhagel of Ohio and James (Christine)
Banhagel of Ionia; grandchildren, David Banhagel of Ionia, Cara Banhagel of
Alabama, Robert (Maureen) Banhagel of Ohio and Rebekah Blankenship of Ohio;
great-grandchildren, Jake and Drew Blankenship of Ohio and Michael Banhagel of
Ionia; sister, Barbara and James Burk of Florida, several step-grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack,
sister Phyllis and one grandson Joseph.

Cremation has taken place.  Services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements
by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.

buried in Easton Cemetery.]
