He moved to Michigan in 1850 on a farm two miles east of this village where he lived until 1917, excepting five years his father traveled in the ministry. Since that time he has lived at his home in Lake Odessa. He was married to Elizabeth Sweitzer January 21, 1872. In early life he sought the Lord and made public profession of religion. In after life he became indifferent, but at the close of life prayer was made for him which he sanctioned and seemed reconciled to God. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, five children, Clarence Meyers, Bert Meyers, Mrs. Charles Boynton, Ferdinand Meyers, all of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Esta Leigh of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Daniel David of Yale, Mich., and two brothers Jacob Meyers of Lowell and Silas Meyers of Detroit, and a host of friends.
