Nellie, wife of Bert M. Meyers, died at their home one mile east of Lake Odessa, on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock, of heart trouble, after a short illness. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Meyers on Saturday night, and at that time Mrs. Meyers life was despaired of, but she rallied somewhat, and it was hoped she was beyond danger although the baby had died. She was fast gaining strength until a few moments before the end, when a change was noticed and she passed away as easily as falling into a gentle sleep. The funeral was held from the U.B. church in Woodbury on Tuesday forenoon, Rev. Bostwick preaching the sermon, and the remains laid to rest in Lakeside cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Meyers would have been married two years this coming November, and their union proved a very happy one. Mrs. Meyers was 25 years old, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Sheldon, of North Castleton. She always attended the schools in Nashville, where she was a general favorite among the young people, later she taught school until her marriage with Mr. Meyers, since then she had taken up the duties of a home as energetically and enthusiastically as she did her studies and in her work as teacher. To know her was to like her, and she will have many many friends to deeply mourn her demise.
