Jerry L. “Bull” Meyers, age 64, of Ionia passed away Sept. 2, 2009 in Ionia.

He was born June 29, 1945 in Ionia the son of James and Louella (White) Meyers. 
Jerry married Yvonne Smejkal May 2, 1981 in Lyons. He retired from Ionia County 
Road Commission in 2000. He played music at the Ionia Commission on Aging for 
15 years. 

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Yvonne Meyers of Ionia; 
children, Lisa (Dana) Palethorpe of Greenville, Angie (Mitch) Harrington of 
Ionia, Melissa (Andrew) Fisher of Saranac, Mike (Wendy) Meyers of Hubbardston, 
Andy (Lori ) Potter of Lake Odessa and Vanessa (Kevin) Booth of Lake Odessa; 
sisters, Connie Sweet of Lakeview, Linda Holcomb of Ionia and Carole (Wes) John 
of Lake Stanton; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Meyers and 1 brother, Larry 
Meyers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, 11 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul 
Catholic Church in Ionia with Rev. Tom Bufford officiating. The family will 
receive friends and relatives Thursday 5-7, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in
