Meyers, 72, of route three, a retired farmer and veteran of World War I, died at 8:10 a.m. Saturday at Pennock hospital in Hastings after an extended illness. He was a patient at Veterans Administration hospital in Ann Arbor two months and was transferred to Hastings Friday. Mr. Meyers was born in Sunfield township August 30, 1891, the son of William and Mary Pickens Meyers, and was married to Dorothy Slater of Grand Rapids November 17, 1927. A lifelong resident of Sebewa area, Mr. Meyers was a member of Sebewa Center Methodist church and Lakeside Barracks. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin DeGood of Wyoming; one grandson, one sister, Mrs. Arthur Creighton of rural Portland; and two brothers, William Meyers of Lyons and Valentine of Lake Odessa. Funeral service will be at Pickens funeral chapel Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., with burial at Oak Grove cemetery near Grand Rapids. Officiating will be the Rev. Doriene Speas of Hastings, and the Rev.
