Ionia Sentinel Standard - 31 May 1977
William Alvin Meyers, 83, of Route 1, Riverside drive, died Sunday evening at 
Belding Community hospital after a short illness.

He was born August 5, 1893 in Eaton county, the son of William and Mary Meyers.  
Mr. Meyers attended Sunfield schools and married the former Vera Wolfert in 
1916.  She preceded him in death in 1921.

A lifelong farmer, Mr. Meyers moved from Portland township to his Lyons home in 
1960.  He attended Lyons Baptist church.

Survivors include one son, Stanley of Saranac; one brother, August of Lake 
Odessa; a sister, Mrs. Elfa Creighton of Portland, 15 grandchildren and 16 
great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday at 2 pm from Hull Memorial chapel with Rev. Richard 
Harrison of Lyons Baptist church officiating.

Burial is in East Sebewa cemetery.
