FORMER RESIDENT OF WOODLAND AND SUNFIELD. ------------- Silas meyers, a former resident of this vicinity died suddenly while working by the sidewalk of a piece of land he had purchased in St. Petersburg, Florida. Mr. Myers,liked Florida and was eager to go south again this year and October 30 he started from Detroit and had only been in Florida a few days when death took him. He had made his home with his daughter Mrs. Sharp recently but for several years lived with his daughter Mrs. Vosburgh. He was a resident of Sunfield 18 years but originally from this vicinity being born in Woodland township. Mr. Meyers was a brother of the late Warren Meyers and was the father of Mrs. Vosburg, the Vosburgs being recently located in the bakery here. Mr. Meyers was an active Christian man being a member of the U. B. Church a good many years. The funeral was held at the Calavary U. B. church, the Rev. Isaac Mourer and Rev. E. G. Lyon officiating. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery. -------------- OBITUARY Silas Meters was born April 29, 1854 and died at St Petersburg, Florida, November 15,1923 at the age of 69 years. 6 months and 17 days. Early in life he sought the Lord remaining faithful until death. He leaves to mourn his loss, two daughters and a son, Mrs. Frank Vosburgh of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Floyd Sharp and Myron Meyers of Detroit, two grandchildren Margaret and Theo, a sister Mrs. Daniel Davis of Flint and brother Jacob Meyers of Lowell, also a large circle of friends.
