She was born in Middleton, Michigan, the daughter of Lester J. and Reha Ida (Creaser) Pearl, both of whom preceded her in death. Both her first husband, Llewellyn D. Smalley, Jr., and her second husband, Lewis E. Meyers, preceded her in death. She worked for Chrysler Motors for many years and following her retirement from there relocated to Florida with Lewis where she also worked for Piper Aircraft. The couple relocated back to Michigan full-time and settled in Ionia to be closer to family. Wanda attended Shiloh Community Church, was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Perrington, and, with her husband, enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping and traveling. She also spent a lot of time at the Ionia Commission on Aging listening to music and enjoying the company of good friends. Wanda leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Carolyn (Thomas Raymond) Kerr of Sheridan, and Sandra L. Smalley of Ionia; seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister Lavonne (Bill) Lambert of Sheridan; and several nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne, in 1955; two grandchildren, Kelly and Tabatha; a great grandchild, Casey; and a brother, Kenneth. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 20, at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Visitation will take place at the church for an hour prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will take place near Middleton following the luncheon at the church. Those planning an expression of sympathy are welcome to consider a memorial contribution in Wanda’s memory to the Shiloh Community Church or the Ionia Area Council on Aging.
