The Hastings Reminder, Tuesday, October 10, 1989
Orpha Mick, 97, of Clarksville passed away Monday, October 9, 1989 at 
Provincial House, Hastings.  Mrs. Mick was born December 22, 1891 in Campbell 
Township, the daughter of Henry and Lorina (Batchelder) Groff.  She attended 
the Darby School.  She was married to George Mick January 7, 1913.  He 
preceded her in death October 12, 1944.  She lived in the Clarksville area 
most of her life.  She was a cook at the Clarksville restaurant, Post Mistress 
at Clarksville Post Office and a clerk at Clarksville and Saranac grocery 
stores, retiring in 1977 at the age of 75.  She attended the Wesleyan Church 
of Clarksville.

Mrs. Mick is survived by two daughters, Mildred Haight of Clarksville and Mrs. 
Bryce (Doris) Baie of Ionia; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; 
one brother, Shirley Groff of Lake Odessa; two sisters, Alma Nash of 
Clarksville and Lelah Murray of Hastings.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 11 at the Koops 
Funeral Chapel, Clarksville.  Burial will be at the Clarksville Cemetery.  
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesleyan Church of Clarksville or 
American Cancer Society.
