                                  HON. JOHN MICK DEAD
                 The Grim Reaper Claimed Him Suddenly This Afternoon.

Hon. John Mick died very suddenly at his farm home, half a mile south and half 
a mile west of Clarksville, at about the noon hour today. He had only a brief 
time before, arrived home from Clarksville; he stepped from the house into the 
yard, and in half a minute collapsed unwarned. Life was completely extinct when 
aid came to his side. The seat of his trouble was his heart, and for six months 
he feared it would terminate his life suddenly, although today he appeared 
unusually alert and cheerful while at Clarksville.

Deceased was of record the honored and respected representative in the 
legislature from the western district of Ionia county, but to every man, woman, 
and child who knew him, and they are legion, he was simply John Mick, the very 
should of honor, a gentleman under all conditions.

Of his life much might easily be written, but they would be empty and tasteless 
words beside the simple declaration that he was a brave and fearless man for 
the right. He was a fixed and honorable purpose of doing all things well.

Mr. Mick was long years the supervisor of his township, was deputy county 
treasurer, and held other offices of trust. He was fourteen years director of 
the Old Farmers' Mutual of Ionia county, and at the election held only a few 
weeks ago was elected for another term.

Mr. Mick was aged 61 years. The wife and children, one son and three daughters 
survive.
