He had spent most of his life in Eaton County and Sunfield township and in his early years had worked at the Lentz Table factory at Nashville, later moving to Woodbury where he was employed by Smith Bros. Velte and Company Elevator for 44 years. During World War II he was employed at the Nash-Kelvinator, Lansing for two years before retiring. Surviving are the daughter Mrs. Velma Johnson, Grand Ledge; two sons, Ezra of Portland and Harlen of Lake Odessa; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a brother James of Laingsbery. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Mapes Funeral Home Sunfield with burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Rev. Don Carrick of the U. B . church officiated. Bearers were three grand sons, Harlan Jr. and LaVerne Middaugh and Harlen MacDowell and Leon Leak, Iral Wells and Forrest De Camp of Woodbury.
