The Lake Odessa Wave, Thursday, December 10, 1936
Harold E. Middaugh, only child of Mr. and Mrs. A. Middaugh, was born in 
Antwerp, Pauling County, Ohio, October 20, 1917 and died by accident, 
Thursday, December 3, aged 19 years, one month and 14 days.  

Harold leaves to mourn their loss, a father and mother, one grandfather, two 
grandmothers, one great-grandmother, nine uncles, six aunts and several other 
relatives.  He also leaves one who mourns, in who affections he was endeared 
and who was ee’r long to be his bride, in the the person of Miss Iris Pierce, 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pierce of Woodbury.   Harold was a good, 
obedient young man, an ambitious, hard worker, one who during his 
comparatively brief residence in this community has made many friends who 
regret and mourn his tragic passing.

Funeral services were held at the Woodbury United Brethren church, conducted 
by Rev. E. M. Wheeler and Rev. G. E. Klopfenstein.  Interment in Sunfield 
cemetery with Wortley & Baine in charge.

Card of Thanks

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the relatives and friends who have so 
kindly contributed to our needs and who have so freely showed their interest 
in our behalf at this time of the tragedy in our home.  We also express our 
appreciation to the Rev. Wheeler and the Rev. Klopfenstein for their part in 
the funeral services, also Mr. Wortley and Mr. Baine for their efficient and 
careful service.
