When a young man of 20 years he came to America making his home in New York then coming to Ionia. He was married Jan. 8, 1880, to Mary C. Weber, to this union was born three children, Mrs. Norman Childs, Bertha B. and Glenn E. From the time of his marriage up to six years ago he lived in Berlin, then moving to Boston, where he lived until he was called to join those who have gone on before him. He had been in poor health for the last two years, but gradually failing. He was a loving husband, a kind father, a friend to every one, petulant until the last, thinking every thing was for the best. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, two daughters and one son, three grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral was held from the home on Saturday, burial in Saranac cemetery, Rev. E. Wooley officiating.
