Sidonia "Sally" Mieko, 77, of Portland died July 27, 1998.

She was born in Holden, W. Va., June 9, 1921, the daughter of Stefan and 
Anna (Mrazik) Jurstik. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in 
Portland.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, George J.; daughters, Bonnie (C.G.) 
Luce of Scottville, Patricia (Gary) Wohlscheid of Portland, Mary (Doug) 
Shepard of Corunna, Barbara (Bruce) Pung of Morrice, and Pamela (Mark) 
Thelen of Bellevue, Neb.; sons, Michael (Victory) of Fort Pierce, Fla., and 
Donald, Joseph (Margaret) and Charles (JoAnn), all of Baraga, James of St. 
Germain, Wis., Larry of Iron River, Gerald (Norva) of Mass City, Roger 
(Julie) of Gaylord, and Rev. John Hascall of Sault St. Marie; 44 
grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Frank Jurstik of Owosso 
and John Jurstik of Brant.

She was preceded in death by sister, Mary Nelson, and brother  Edward 
Jurstik. 

Funeral mass was celebrated July 30 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with 
Rev. Chris W. Rouesch and Rev. John Hascall officiating. Rite of Committal 
followed at Portland Cemetery.
