Ionia Sentinel, Aug 1999

Mrs. Marian M. (Tingley) Mier, 65, of Orleans Twp., Ionia, passed away Sunday 
evening (Aug. 22, 1999) at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Marian was born Feb. 8, 1934 in Orleans Twp., the daughter of Ora and Martha 
(Adrian) Tingley, Sr.  She attended Piper School in Orleans and was married to 
Robert Mier on Jan. 9, 1959 in Ionia County, and he survives.

Marian was employed at Atwood Corp. in Lowell for 27 years before retiring.  
She enjoyed her flower garden and camping with her husband and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Robert; one daughter, Jan (Joe) Kammers of Ionia; 
two grandsons, Pete and Matt Kammers, both of Ionia; three brothers, Ora (Ann) 
Tingley Jr., of Belding, Lem Tingley of Orleans and Robert (Marge) Tingley of 
Orleans; five sisters, Ann (Leroy) Ladner of Big Rapids, Betty Odell of Ionia, 
Virginia (Carl) Lamphere of Muir, Helen Cameron of Newberry and Gladys Heald of 
Orleans; one half-brother, Marvin Wood of Lake Linden and half-sister, 
Clarabell Eddy of Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter and one brother.

Funeral services for Marian Mier will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999 at 11 
a.m. at Shiloh Community Church, Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating and the 
interment will follow at Tuttle Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the Rich 
Street Chapel of Cook Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 until 5 and 7 until 9 
p.m.  Memorials may be made to the Ionia Area Hospice, with envelopes available 
at Cook Funeral Home or at the church.
