Mier Sr., 84, of Belding died Monday, March 3, 2014 near Belding. Roger was born on October 31, 1929 in Greenville, the son of Harvey and Elaine (Collins) Mier. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1955 and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 554 of Morley. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Mier in 2008; and by his parents; two sons, Roger Jr. and Raymond; a daughter, Carmella and one sister, Pauline. Roger is survived by his children, Ralph and Sheila Mier of Lakeview, Randy Mier of Lansing; two stepdaughters, Carol Ann and Charlene; special friends, Judith Ricks, Jim Grundy and his other friends from Belding. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Shane Prewitt of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment will be in the spring in Aetna Township Cemetery, Morley. Memorials may be given to the Belding American Legion Post No. 203.
