Mier, 71, of 808 E. Main St., Died Sunday at the Michigan Veterans Facility. He was born May 21, 1915 in Ionia, the son of John and Cassie Collins Mier, and attended Ionia. He married Louise M. Bogert on March 18, 1939 in Ionia. He worked for the Michigan Reformatory, retiring in 1969 with 25 years of service. After retirement, he went to college and became a master barber in Florida. He was a World War II veteran. He was a past member of the American Legion Post in Okemos. Surviving are his wife, Louise; two daughters; five grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Broga of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Alice Paulson of Mashalltown Iowa; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry. Arrangements by Montgomery Funeral Home, Rev. Timothy Gillette presiding.
