He was born in Ontario, March 21, 1874 and moved to Ionia in 1905. In 1912 he took over as chief operator of the Ionia electric power sub station. He retired in 1930 and continued to live in Ionia until 1952 when he moved to Okemos. Survivors include two sons, Dale Mier of Ionia and Henry of Okemos; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Broga of Ionia and Mrs. Alice Paulson of Marshalltown, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Reva Marlett of Lansing. funeral service will be at Gorsline Runciman East Chapel in East Lansing Friday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Walter Stump of Chapel Hill Methodist church will officiate and interment will be at chapel Hill cemetery. Bearers will be Vernon Beal, William Chauncey, Sam McVey, Doyle Church, Fred Schaibly and Richard Williams.
