Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 19 Feb 1943

Floyd J. Mikesell, 63, a resident of Orleans township, died Thursday evening
after a short illness in Butterworth hospital, Grand Rapids.  He was born August
18, 1879, at Charlotte.  Mr. Mikesell never married.

He was a rural mail carrier from Shiloh for over 30 years and was retired in
1932.  He was a member of Palo F. & A. M. and for many years a member of the
Chittle school board.  He was a life-long resident of Shiloh and vicinity.

Surviving him is a brother, Ray H. Mikesell, of Fenwick; one niece, Mrs. Wilbur
Stanton, of Sheridan and one great nephew.

Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 11 o’clock at the Stebbins
funeral home in Sheridan.  Rev. H.S. Ellis of Belding will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreen cemetery.  Masonic services will be conducted by Palo F. &
A. M.
