The Ionia Daily Standard, Monday, November 8, 1909

Alena Mikkelson died on Sunday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter 
Peterson, on State road three miles north of city.  She was born in Denmark 
and was 75 years old.  She was a widow, her husband dying about two years 
ago.  She was the mother of ten children, of whom nine are living.  Funeral 
service will be at the home at noon Wednesday and at the Evangelical church at 
2 p.m.  Interment, Highland Park.
