Mikulecky, 70, of 412 Taylor court, died Friday morning at 8:10 at Ionia County Memorial hospital where he had been admitted early Thursday. Born the son of Joseph and Catherine Mikulecky, in Czechoslovakia, October 5, 1893, he came to the United States in 1931 and until 1944 lived in New York state. In 1945 he moved to Ionia where he was employed at Ypsilanti Reed until his retirement in 1955. In March of 1919 he was married to Marie Sadilek in Czechoslovakia, who survives. Mr. Mikulecky served in the Austria-Hungarian Army during World War I as a guerrilla fighter in the Alpine mountains. Surviving besides his wife, Marie, are a son, Joseph Mikulecky of Baltimore, Md., and a grandson. Funeral service will be Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Stone-Kauffman funeral home with Rev. Ray R. Fassett, pastor of Evangelical United Brethren church, officiating. Burial will be at Balcom cemetery.
