Mrs. Miles is survived by her son, Larry Jack, born Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock, her husband Jack Miles of Ionia and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Galloway of Palo. Mrs. Miles was born in Palo, August 27, 1912, and attended the Palo public school and high school until the 11th grade when she transferred to the Ionia high school where she was graduated with the class of 1930. Upon her graduation from Ionia high school she entered Hillsdale college where she was graduated in 1934 with highest scholastic honors, the Phi Beta Kappa award. While a student at Hillsdale college Mrs Miles became besides an honor student, an outstanding member of her class. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority and served one year as its house treasurer. She was captain of the Hillsdale college girls' hockey team and was 1932 and 1933 girls' tennis champion of the college. in addition to her court honors at Hillsdale she was Ionia county girls' tennis champion in 1928 and 1929 and was a member of the Hillsdale YWCA. While a resident of Palo she was a member of the Palo Baptist church and was graduated from the American youth foundation camp at Shelby in 1933. She was married to Jack Miles, son of Capt. and Mrs. C.D. Miles of Ionia, Sept. 29, 1934, and had since lived in Ionia where her husband had been employed. Funeral services will be held from the Boynton funeral chapel Saturday afternon at 2 o'clock and from the Palo Baptist church at 3 o'clock. Burial will be at the Palo cemetery with Rev. F.J. Fitch, pastor of the Ionia Baptist church, officiating.
