Ionia Sentinel Standard - Jan. 22, 2011


Kathryn Ann Miles of Portland passed away on Jan. 9, 2011. Kathy was born Nov. 
13, 1942 in Carson City, the daughter of Elmo and Bernice Patton.

She completed high school and later Cosmetology School in 1961. During her 
working years she was employed at several beauty salons in addition to Kroger, 
Eberhard’s and Feldpausch stores.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Richard; children, Brian of Holt, and 
Lori (Jim) Perras of Mason; grandchildren, Chelsey and Miles Bonaparte of 
Mason; sisters, Connie Hofer of Portland, Nancy (Jim Van Ells) Williams of 
Florida, and Jeanne (Randy) Curtis of Ionia;; brother  James (Rosalie) Patton 
of Ionia and several loving nieces and nephews. 

Honoring Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The Memorial Service will 
be conducted by Dr. Rev. Marilyn V. Danielson at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, 
2011 at the First Congregational Church, 421 E. Bridge St., Portland. The 
family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Hospice House 
of Mid Michigan, St. Lawrence Campus, 1210 W. Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48915.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman funeral Homes. Online
