                                  HAZEL MILES

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Hazel Miles,79, of 528 W.May 
Street, Belding. Huffman funeral Home with Rev.Richard Bayles officiating. 
Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery. Mrs. Miles died Thursday, May 3, at the Grand 
Rapids Osteopathic Hospital. An Eastern Star Memorial Service was held Sunday 
evening.

A housewife, Mrs.Miles was born June 2, 1894, in Altona, the daughter of Charles 
and Sarah Swarthout. She was first married to Jesse Youmans who died in 1937. 
She then married Clinton Miles who died in 1957.

She is survived by 3 sons, Dale Youmans of Newaygo, Jesse Youmans of Belding and 
Ernest Youmans of Morley; a step-daughter, Mrs.Margaret Nielsen of Coral; 17 
grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.


A Past Worthy Matron of Doric Chapter 75 OES, Mrs. Miles also was a member of 
the White Shrine of Greenville, Victoria Rebekah Lodge 60, Royal Neighbors of 
America, Blue Star Mothers, Gold Star Mother and the VFW Auxiliary.
