MILESKI Bernie Francis "Bernie" Mileski of Battle Creek Died Sept. 12, 2016-age 68 at Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical center. Born in Grand Rapids April 28, 1948 to Francis Leon and Yolanda (Smith) Mileski. Grew up in Ionia. Graduated 1967 from SS. Peter & Paul Catholic High School. Served in U.S. Army, 18 months in Vietnam, until August 1969. Worked at N.A.S.A & became a welding apprentice at Newport News Ship Building & Dry Dock Co. VA., in 1972, earned Journeyman welding license in 1976. Retired 2006 from Battle Creek Veteran's as a contact officer technician. In 2002 as ordained as a Permanent Deacon of the Roman Catholic Church. Married to Sharon E.Ellis at St. Vincent DePaul Church in VA. Jan. 30, 1971. Surviving are his wife Sharon of 45 years, three children, 8 grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Preceded in death by his parents, and a brother. Bernie was a 4th degree and life member of Knights of Columbus. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. at St.Philip Catholic church. Military honors followed at Ft.
