Ionia Standard, 23 Oct 1895

Charles Millard, one of the pioneers of Ionia county, dropped dead at Jackson on
Monday.  His age was 78.  He came from New York state, locating on a farm near
Pewamo in 1840, where he lived nearly 50 years, moving to this city in 1889.  In
1894 he moved to Mancelona, and more recently went to Jackson, to make his home
with a son.  Two nephews of deceased reside in this city: Lester A. Millard and
W.A. Corey.

Funeral will be held at Pewamo, on Friday, probably under direction of I.O.O.F.,
of which deceased was a member.
