She was born Aug. 4, 1925 in Flushing, the daughter of John and Marion (Smith) Whymer. Patricia married Merle (Ben) Millard Jan, 29, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1988. Her first job was at Ionia County Road Commission. She then went on to own and operate Millard’s Cleaners with her husband. The business was originally owned by her father and operated under Felix cleaners. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, where she was active in the choir. Patricia is survived by her children, Mary (Daniel) Cusack of Ionia, Thomas (Jani) Millard of Ionia and Lee Ann (Leo) Bowen of Saranac; brother, Robert (Terry) Wymer of Grand Rapids; sister Rose Marie Miller of Ionia; grandchildren, Andrew (Melissa) Cusack of Ionia, Caitlin Cusack of Ionia, Melissa Millard of Ionia, Marcus (Karen) Millard of North Carolina, Becky (Brent) Edwards of Belding, Mandy (Ron) Mutschler of Saranac, Bobbi (Doug) Thelen of Lowell , Ben (Becky) Bowen of Ionia and Jessica Bowen of Saranac; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother in law, John Miller; and brother and sister-in-law, Leo (Bea) Millard. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Tom Boufford celebrant. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lake funeral Home in Ionia and one hour prior to service at the church Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
