Ionia Sentinel Standard, 18 Oct 1988

The funeral Mass for Merle “Ben” Millard Jr. was offered at 11 a.m. Saturday at SS.
Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, Ionia, with the Rev. Eugene Alvesteffer
officiating.  The organist was Renate Conrad and the soloist was Fred Wieber. 
Prayers were offered by Brian Lyons at the Cook Funeral Home prior to Mass.

The rosary, held Friday evening, was led by the Rev. Harold Feltman.  Burial was in
Mount Olivet Cemetery.  Pallbearers were: Charles Higbee, Robert Todd, Loren Adgate,
Charles Goodmiller and Peter Shier.  The Knights of Columbus served as honorary
pallbearers.

A luncheon was served for family and friends, after the services, at SS. Peter and
Paul’s Academy.
