Miller, for 25 years mail clerk on the Grand Trunk, passed from this life Saturday, November 2, after an illness of four years. He was born in Ridgeway, Michigan, February 5, 18?9. Mr. Miller was a faithful member of the Church of Christ for many years. He was baptized at Ionia in 1889 and united with the Ionia Church at that time. On moving to Detroit he united with the Old Central church, later transferring to the Woodward avenue church. In 1917 he moved to Lyons where he was postmaster for three years. He retired and moved to Muir and united with the Muir Church of Christ where he was an Elder as long as his health permitted. He then was made an Honorary elder. He joined the Lyons Masonic Lodge in 1917. Funeral service was held Monday from the Muir Church of Christ. Rev. Paul L. Stewart, of Ionia, officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. George Stedman and Mrs. Ronald Banton with Mrs. Floyd Upton accompanist. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Laurel McKown and Mrs. Ross Confer. Bearers were George Staley, M.F. Spaulding, John Currigan, Lee Strachan, Otto Ulrich and Coral Estep. Members of the Lyons F.&A.M. lodge formed the honorary escort and conducted the burial rites at the cemetery. Mr. Miller leaves his widow and one foster son, Wm. T. Miller, who is now in the Government employ in the Department of Commerce, Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Mrs. R.J. Coller, Detroit; Mrs. James Terrill, of Cleveland O., and Mrs. Frank E. Potts, of Ann Arbor; a half brother, T.S. VanDuzen, of Vassar, Mich.; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Friends and relatives attending from away were the above named and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Coller, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Faulkner, of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. L. Martin, of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Coller, Grand Rapids; Mrs. J. Lee Anderson and daughter, Ruth, of Hastings; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Faulkner, Mrs. Helen Kenny and Henry Foltz, of Ionia.
