Monty L. Miller, 51, of Palo, passed away on Mon., Feb. 11, 2002 at his home.

Monty was born Aug. 24, 1950 in Lansing, the son of George A. Miller Sr. and 
Bette (Hamilton) Miller.  He was married to Dixie J. (Chipman) Miller on April 
24, 1971 in Palo.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie J. Miller; his four children and their 
families, Tina Miller and her daughter, Emily of Greenville, Tim (Jessica) 
Miller and daughter, Caitlin of Greenville, Tonya (Eric) Edwards and daughters 
Breann and Brittney of Palo and Travis Miller of Palo; his mother, Bette Miller 
of Belding; and three brothers, George A. (Nancy) Miller Jr. of Ionia, Mickey 
(Linda) Miller of Trufant and Rockne (Jo) Miller of Lansing. 

Monty was preceded in death by his father, George A. Miller Sr.

Monty has been a longtime resident of Palo.  He retired from Federal Mogul 
where he worked in the purchasing department.  He was the president of the Palo 
Community Schools Board of Education and was a member of the Ronald Township 
Fire Department.

Visitation is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Stebbins and Simpson Funeral 
Home in Sheridan.  Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m., Thursday at the 
Stebbins and Simpson Funeral Home at Sheridan with Pastor Kendall Harger of the 
Shiloh Community Church officiating.  Interment at Palo Cemetery.  The family 
suggests memorial contributions to a memorial in Monty’s memory for the Palo 
School.
