A. Miller, whose maiden name was Sophronia White, was born in Ohio, March 15th, 1836, and died at the home of her son Burt in this place, Feb. 24th, 1912, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 9 days. She was one of a family of eleven children and came to this state in the pioneer days. She was united in marriage to Mr. Benjamin A. Miller on August 8th, 1858, at Lyons Mich.; to this union four children were given, three of whom survive, Mrs. Ella Peters of Manistique, Burt A. Miller of this place and Carrie A. Miller of Detroit, all of whom were with the mother at her death. Mrs. Miller while of a quiet and gentle manner, was yet possessed of a strong personality and exerted an influence helpful. The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon and conducted by Rev. D. B. Davidson, pastor of the Baptist church of Lyons, The burial was in Muir. The floral tributes bore silent testimony to the affection of friends.
