She was born on Nov. 21, 1904, in Fulmuth, the daughter of George and Ora (Carter) Wilson. Teaching Sunday School brought great joy to her. She also enjoyed baking, crafts and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick); daughters, Betty Miller, Doris Wheeler, and Rosalie King; son, George Miller; four sisters and two brothers. Surviving are three daughters, Peg Schuster of Portland, Ruth (Dale) Petrie of Sunfield; and Virginia (Richard Barnes) Lake of Florida; son, Richard (Rick) (Patsy) Miller of Bakersfield, Mo; 40 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Derua Cutler of Arcadia. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Schrauben- Lehman Funeral Home, 1301 E. Grand River Ave., Portland. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Portland Foundation for Public Education for playground equipment in memory of Lila Bell Miller.
