Clifton G. Miller, age 86, of Lyons, passed away Feb. 8, 2008 in Grand 
Rapids.  He was born Dec. 11, 1921 in Ionia the son of George and Hazel 
(Borton) Miller.  Clifton married Jane Hollenbeck July 15, 1943 in Indiana.  
He was a Captain in the Army Air Corps during WWII, where he flew B-24 
Bombers.  He earned two purple hearts and a distinguished service medal while 
serving.  Clifton flew several support missions in France and was nursed back 
to health by a French family who were members of the French Underground after 
he was shot down.

Clifton is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jane Miller of Lyons; 
daughters, Susan (Dean) Caddell of Zion, Ill., Patricia (Michael) Breen of 
Rockford, Marilyn (Tom) Hauter of Lyons; sister June Fitch of Lowell; sister 
and brother-in-law, Darrell and Anne Walkington of Saranac; sister-in-law, 
Arlene Miller of Lyons; grandchildren, Wendy and Dena McBride, Brian and Laura 
Lehman, Christopher Breen, Joel Breen, Meghan Hauter and Ryan Hauter; great-
grandchildren, Kayleigh Bratke, Zachary Lehman and Nina Lehman and one great-
great-grandchild, Brieanna Bratke and many nieces and nephews.  He was 
preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Roy and Glenn.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at Lyons Muir Church with Pastor 
Bert Nelson officiating.  Interment Tuttle Cemetery.  The family will receive 
friends and relatives Tuesday 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.  
Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Muir.  In lieu of flowers donations may 
be made to Lyons V.F.W.
