She was born the daughter of Herman and Annette (King) Humphrey on Feb. 27, 1902. She graduated from Ionia High School in 1921 and received a Life Certificate from Ypsilanti and a Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University. She taught school in Saranac and Greenville before retiring in 1968. In 1925 she married R. Herbert Miller and he preceded her in death in 1972. She was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church, a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, past High Priestess of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and a member of the Retire Teachers Association. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J.B. (Bonnie) McQueen of Oxford, Mrs. John (Constance) Kennedy of Belding, and Mrs. Richard (Maureen “Nancy”) Olsen of Greenville; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Marion Miller of Ionia; one son-in- law, Mr. Thomas Daley of Saranac; four granddaughters; seven grandsons; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Robert in 1992; daughter Jacquelyn in 1997; an infant son Richard in 1943; two brothers, Howard and Harold; and her sister, Ardis. Funeral and committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Easton United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Wells officiating. Interment in Easton Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Easton United Methodist Church, the Order of the White Shrine or the Order of the Eastern Star, in care of Cook Funeral Home, Ionia, who handled the funeral arrangements.
