Robert H. Miller, 66, of Ionia, died Wednesday at Butterworth Hospital, Grand 
Rapids. He was born the son of Ross H. and Alice Humphrey Miller on March 14, 
1926, in Ionia.

He was graduated from Belding High School and Michigan State University with a 
degree in Psychology. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army at the 
Battle of the Bulge and in the Japanese Theatre.

He married Marion Mclellen in Lansing on April 18, 1959. They resided in Ionia.

He was employed by the State of Michigan Department of Corrections at the 
Michigan Training Unit since it opened. He retired in January 1985 as assistant 
deputy warden. 

He was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church, former chairman of the 
board, and active in all the church activities.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kevin and Rene, both of Ionia; his 
mother; four sisters, Bonnie McQueen of Oxford, Jackie Daley of Saranac, Connie 
Kennedy and Nancy Olson, both of Belding; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Easton United Methodist Church, 
Ionia, with the Rev. Scot Otis officiating. Burial will be in Easton Cemetery.

The family will be at the Cook Funeral Home, Ionia, Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. 
and Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Tom Baylis, Phil Jones, Don Funkey, Joel Kennedy, Tim 
McQueen and Mark Swanson.

A memorial has been established for the Easton United Methodist Church, in care 
of the funeral home.
